RitChat
A tiny, simple end-to-end encrypted chat for short private conversations. No accounts. No registration. No cookies.
To start a secure chat, you only need to:
- Open this page.
- Enter a shared passphrase.
- Start chatting.
- 🔐 Messages are encrypted in your browser (E2EE).
- 🧠 The passphrase never leaves your tab’s memory.
- 🧹 Close the tab — access is gone instantly.
- 🍪 No cookies, no localStorage, no persistent identifiers.
- 👥 Group chats are supported (anyone with the passphrase can join).
RitChat is designed for quick, confidential exchanges when you don’t want to create accounts or leave traces on devices.
The frontend encryption code is open for inspection — anyone can verify how messages are protected.
Privacy note: RitChat does not store passphrases, chat IDs or encryption keys in cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage or IndexedDB. Access exists only while this browser tab is open.
Chats inactive for more than 7 days are automatically deleted from the server.
